How you can help

Thank you!

United Way “Day to Care”

Greater Columbus Learning Center is thankful for and humbled by the generous gifts given to us over the years.  Like many non-profit organizations, our funding is never guaranteed.  That’s why donations from other organizations or individuals are so very important to us.  Whether it’s volunteers, monetary or other types of donations, GCLC appreciates each one.

How can you help?

There are many ways you can help us continue to provide quality adult eduction for the Golden Triangle area. Three areas that you can choose from include volunteering, donating items, and giving a monetary gift.

Volunteer (George Courington) with a client

Our volunteers have taught us many lessons about selfless service to the community.  Volunteering is a rewarding way to give the most precious asset we have, our personal time.  Areas you can volunteer include being a tutor, helping in the office or becoming a GCLC “evangelist.”  If you would like to volunteer, please take a moment to fill out the Volunteer Request form at the bottom of this page.  When we receive your request to volunteer, we will contact you to discuss opportunities that will best fit your  abilities and schedule.

Donating Items

Over the years, GCLC has received some thoughtful and well timed gifts.  Items ranging from pencils to a compressor for a failed air conditioner.   We realize that not everyone who desires to donate to our program can give an air conditioner, but whatever you decide to give will be greatly appreciated.   If you are interested in giving items to GCLC, contact us and find out how you can help.  Also, we have setup a “wish list” at so that donors could browse the list and pick items that fit their budget.  (Amazon Wish List)

Giving Monetary Gifts

MUW Volunteers
Volunteers from Mississippi University for Women

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket and can’t seem to find a place to spend it, consider us a great investment.  We will use your donation to help adults in our community reach their educational goals by providing them with much needed educational materials.  Also, you can choose to donate a “scholarship” for prospective GED® test candidates.  These scholarships help offset the cost of taking the GED® test.  If you would like to give a monetary gift, contact us and let us know how you would like to help.
